Simplicity

Have you ever been in a situation whereby you are required to start afresh on a clean fresh slate such as moving into a new house, formatting your computer hard disk, rearranging your living room, kitchen, garden....., changing the design of your interior, etc... Now the whole notion is that Change is hard to achieve be it positive or negative, but that is not the reason for this note.Simplicity is the reason for this note, when this changes comes to being we tend to realize the complexity of the life we live. Take for example formatting your hard disk you have to make huge decisions on which files to backup and those you can do without but never thought you could do without. The world we live in today is so complex that i wonder why we are so crazy about the style of houses we would like to reside in even though you know it would take your whole life paying up the mortgage terms, or why most of us want elaborate weddings where the top guns of the society are in attendance then you and your husband would use all your years together to pay up the accrued bills, why do we stock up our home with the latest of gadgets when we are never at home to even play a DVD on the home theater system?, why do we keep 15 cars when we can only be in one at a point in time?Have we ever thought of the early years when things were a lot simpler? you wouldn't have to choke your sitting room with furniture because you and your friend were contended with sitting on the benches or even on the grass where no dust gathers, you wouldn't need to hustle so hard because your little farm will provide for all your basic needs and even more, no wonder there were no armed robbers then they only had "petty thieves" or lazy bones...OK away from all these thoughts have you ever taken time out to check out those things which you feel you can't do away with and you wonder why? Living a complex life will only earn you a place in the Rat Race where you only join the league of hustlers and power hungry fellows who end up frustrated, no wonder psychologist recommend leaving behind your telephones, pagers, laptops and every means of communication when going on a holiday...The imperative of this message is SIMPLICITY great men of this world have lived on this principle Gandhi, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr, Bill Gate doesn't rush to wear those expensive shirts or hold the most expensive phone even though he could afford them he still keeps it simple, Richard Branson takes it simple in his board room meetings without the whole complexity of protocols of business.......Have a lovely Xmas n Happy New Year while you keep it simple.
