SA Memoirs

Not this airport again! *wipes sweat* the heat inside can extract a full 75cl Bottle of water from your pores... yea I can read the words on the posters scattered like grains meant for feeding - apologies for the inconvenience, we are working to make MMIA one you'd be proud of - .

Hmmm the post security checkpoint seem great though... like 4 different lounges, the interior of the convinience looks great, corteious staff in the off duty stores... more work needs to be done

Can we take off already? These "kids" have their butts on my nerves. 5hrs 40mins later a 're-enachment' of my experience on a trip via Tripoli is back! South Africans are clapping and shouting immediatly the plane touched down, but unlike the "praise the lord" and "thank God our plane didn't crash" statements of the Nigerians on my Tripoli trip, the South Africans were shouting with mockery gestures 'no more Okada', no more boko haram, no more oga anything for me? Etc they went on with these mockery till the Airbus was empty.

It is 5 am and the Sun is already out! Great weather, I hope it's like this all year round :)

Check-in time is 2pm but this wonderful set of hotel staff agreed to house me immediately without any extra fee :) lovely people... this means a good review on tripadvisor.com.

Last Night in SA... been shuttling between lectures and the shopping mall for the last 3 days... This obviously can't be all SA has to offer.

Off to Hillbrow, a 20 minute s drive from Glemalmod Hotel.

YES! this is it. Housing apartments that look like the 1004 buildings in Lagos, loads of people on the streets, guys in the corner smoking and chatting away, posters that read "Abortion without pain Call..." "Penis enlargement Call" "Quick loan Call", ladies moving around with big booties walking like hippopotamus on a grand mission, adult entertainment show on offer at a huge discount, strippers and hookers, o here is the famous 'Ama Kip Kip' shirt.. yea u can only find dat in the hood.
Popped into one of the pubs... it's ManU against QPR great game... why doesn't anyone believe I'm Nigerian, I must have mastered this accent :d. Had a great Saturday, back to my hotel, maybe the scenes at Hillbrow will motivate me to come along in January for the nations cup.

SA worth experiencing.

Ciao
